The basic requirement for voting in any country is voter id or the presence of name in the electoral roll or voters list or electoral register or polling book etc. In India to vote in any election the person must be a citizen of India and that person should have a voter id (age must be 18 years or above). Now the question is how to vote, In India there are different type of elections but mainly can be classified in to 2 types, General elections for Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha. How to Vote with EVM at Polling Booth?

  • Go to the Polling booth along with Voter ID card, voter slip on the election day.
  • Join the line to cast your vote.
  • When your turn comes the polling officer will verify your details by checking your voter id card and voter slip, and allows you for casting the vote.
  • After verifying your name in the electoral roll polling officer will allow to enter the polling booth where EVM is present.
  • Before voting once check candidate names and parties on the EVM.
  • Now check your candidate name and party is displayed in the EVM.
  • In the EVM machine, a button will be there in front of every party symbol and candidate name.
  • Press your favorite candidate option in the EVM to cast your valuable vote.

The abbreviation of VVPAT is Voter Verified Paper Audit Trial.

  • Go to the Polling booth along with Voter ID card, voter slip on the election day.
  • Join the line to cast your vote.

  • Select the Voter ID slip from the main menu.
  • Voter slip online window will be displayed.
  • You can download voter slip with EPIC number or your name.
  • Select EPIC number option.
  • Now enter your EPIC number and click the search button.
  • Voter Id slip of your desired EPIC number will be displayed.
  • Now check the details and download the voter slip by clicking download option.

How to Download Photo Voter Slip Online?

  • Go to NVSP portal.
  • Select the Voter ID slip from the main menu.
  • Voter Id slip online window will be displayed.
  • You can download voter slip with the help of EPIC number or your name.
  • Select Name option.
  • Now enter your Name, Father Name, Gender, and Address
  • After entering all the details click the search button.
  • Voter Id slip of will be displayed.

What Should I Do If I Don’t Have Voter Id with them While Voting?

If your Voter id is not with you and you have confirmed your name in the electoral roll or voter list in that case you can download the voter slip and carry a valid identification proof for voting in the elections.
