The Indonesian General Elections are scheduled to be held on 17th April 2019. Both Presidential and Legislative Elections will be held on the same day i.e. on 17/04/2019. The last Indonesian Presidential Elections were held on 9th of July 2014. The term of the Indonesian President is 5 years so the current President of Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo will complete this year therefore the Presidential Elections will be held on 17th of April this year. The General Election Commission of Indonesia KPU is responsible for conducting the Elections in Republic of Indonesia. The President of Republic of Indonesia is directly elected by the Indonesia electorate.

Presidential Elections 2019:
The Indonesia Presidential Elections will be held on April 17 2019. A Candidate can contest for President Post for 2 terms therefore the current President will be participated in this election along with the opposite contestant. The Presidential Election will be direct voting system by the electorate of Indonesia and the selection process is based on the simple majority system. The Presidential Contestants will be the current President Joko Widodo and Prabowo Subianto. The Presidential term for this election will be in between 2019 and 2024.

Coming to the Legislative Elections, these elections in Indonesia are held once in every five years. Legislative Elections are held for both House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representative Council (DPD). DPR have 560 seats from 77 Electoral Districts and DPD have 132 seats from 33 Provinces of Indonesia. The Legislative Elections in Indonesia will be held for all the 19,699 seats in National level, Provincial Level, Regency Level, Municipality Level on the Election Day i.e. on 17th April 2019.
